How to join the World of Warcraft Classic beta
WoW Classic are a invite-only beta, but everyone has a chance to get it. First, you have to make sure you have picked World of Warcraft Classic in your beta preferences in your Battle.net account (more on that in this article). Secondly, you’ll have to have a active subscription or active game time in your Battle.net account.
Just as we got the official release date of World of Warcraft classic on on August 27, we also get the news about a beta test starting right now. A closed beta which every WoW enthusiast wants to take part off!
So how do I join the World of Warcraft Classic beta?
The process is actually very simple. However, there is no guarantee an invitation will be sent to you (unless you’re a influencer or a popular streamer).
How to sign up for the WoW Classic beta
- Sign in to your battle.net account
Visit battle.net and log in to your account. - Update your beta profile settings
Click on ‘Go to Beta Profile Settings‘. - Select World of Warcraft Classic in your Beta Profile
Make sure to select ‘World of Warcraft Classic’ and update your preferences. - Activate a subscription or have active game time on World of Warcraft
Have active subscription or active game time on your WoW account.
At the very bottom of your battle.net account, you’ll find the beta access and where you can update your beta profile settings.
Next, add World of Warcraft Classic to your beta preferences, or any other game for that matter you’re interested in.
WoW Classic beta Release date
Starting on May 15 Blizzard will begin to roll out several stress tests for the new client. The level cap this time will be level 30 (as compared to the previous beta at level 19).
You’ll be able to create up to three characters per World of Warcraft account to test things out and reporting potential bugs.
The planned stress tests are scheduled at followed dates:
- Stress Test 1: Wed May 22–Thurs May 23
- Stress Test 2: Wed Jun 19– Thurs Jun 20
- Stress Test 3: Thurs Jul 18– Fri July 19
So if you haven’t got a beta key for the first test, your chances are not gone yet.
